Double, double toil and trouble; fire burn and cauldron bubble!
Dust off your brooms… The Halloween Walk

is back for ONE LAST TIME!

NANOOSE BAY HALLOWEEN WALK — est. 2006–2026

October 23rd, 24th & 25th, 2026

🌙 Evening Walk: Friday, Saturday & Sunday, 6:30–9:30 PM

☀️ Daytime Walk: Saturday & Sunday, (only) 12–2 PM

After 20 incredible years, the time has come to say goodbye. It is incredibly bittersweet to write those words. Our family has lived in Nanoose for over 30 years, raising our three grown boys here in this beautiful community. The Halloween Walk has become such a special part of our lives and tradition. We feel it is time to retire the Halloween Walk for our family & farm, and we hope another family here on Vancouver Island might take it over and carry on this special community tradition. We have met wonderful people, made lifelong friendships, created countless memories — and baked thousands upon thousands of chocolate chip cookies!

What started in 2006 with a few friends and family members grew year after year into a three-night monster event, spread across seven of our ten acres. With flying ghosts, the swamp monster, Esmeralda the witch, the giant spider, chainsaw guy, monsters, spooky scenes, Pirate ship, Frankenstein, and much much more with laughter and plenty of screams, the walk takes approximately 35 minutes to complete. At the end of the walk, children receive cookies, while the Nanoose Bay Lions Club offers hot cocoa and hot dogs for purchase along with other concessions. FUN for all ages!!

Over the years, the Halloween Walk has raised more than $123,600.00 for the Ballenas Whalers Football Society and Nanoose Bay Elementary School — two organizations very close to our hearts. Mike still coaches football for the Whalers, and I was once an NBES PAC chair. All three of our boys attended NBES school and played football for the Ballenas Whalers.

I am so grateful to my all my friends who have helped bring the Halloween Walk to life. Especially my great friend Kris Walker who has been a huge support and help create and build many scary props over the years including Colleen Jordan who coordinates the volunteers and Jennifer Schmidt who is Esmeralda the Witch the past years!

This event would never have been possible without our incredible army of volunteers, our longtime Halloween crew, Dekaiah, Maddy, Riley, Ruby, Keira, Kailey, Dave, Stan, Colin, and many more including our family & friends.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who has supported the walk over these 20 years — especially our neighbours, Ballenas Whalers, Stone Tree Farm, Ready Propane, Sunbelt Rentals, Nanoose Bay Lions, Suzanne Le Stage Photography, Springford Farm, Rusted Rake, NBES, Pharmasave Parksville, Save-On-Foods, Quality Foods Nanoose Bay and Thrifty Foods Parksville, who donate over 175 pumpkins to light the path!

And thank you to the NBES students who come out and carve all those pumpkins!

Thank you to my hubby, Mike, and my family for believing in my crazy, creative and spooky ideas all these years. Most of all, THANK YOU to everyone who has attended the Halloween Walk, screamed, laughed, smiled and made this Halloween Walk a tradition.

One last walk. One last scare. One last Halloween Walk, hope to see you there!

Thank you,
Lesley & Coach Mike Seselja
